IKonic Interior Pieces of the Week
Coming to you this week, IKonic Interior taps into contemporary pieces from across the globe. Featuring one of our favorites, Karim Rashid, we show you how art meets dwelling. Check them out below!
“Blob” Chandelier by Karim Rashid
Of course, I had to add a piece from the infamous Karim Rashid. Because of his vivid polychromatic style, I've taken a liking to all of his projects. Rashid's 21st Century 16-Light Chandelier, "Blob", is one of the IKonic books. Manufactured by Purho Murano, Blob is constructed using Murano blown glass of four sequential colors shown above: emerald green, blue Mediterranean, honey, and amethyst pink. However, clients have the opportunity to customize their chandelier using 21 color variations. Retailed at a price of $21,130.08 (via 1stDibs).
Mah Jong Sectional by Hons Hopfer
The "Mah Jong" sectional from Hons Hopfer is perfect in a chique household. Big enough to fit at least 10 people, this 20-piece sofa has the power to bring anybody together with its soft fabric. Designed for the French manufacturer, Roche Bobois in 1971, the ability to rearrange each piece makes the Mah Jong ideal for living. This piece was recently sold for $25,000 (via 1stDibs).
“An icon is forever, but to be still contemporary it has to adapt to the present times.”
CHARLEY VEZZA
“Pratone” Chaise by Gufram Pratone
Just 8 months ago, Ceretti, Derossi & Rosso celebrated the 50th anniversary of its infamous Gufram Pratone chaise. The Pratone piece was created in 1971 to provide idiosyncratic impact to a decade of fringes and shags. Known for its flexibility, this piece is perfect for all ages and sizes. Available in three shades of green, the chair imitates a small lawn patch of polyurethane to be engulfed in. Currently selling for a price of approximately $10,480 (via 1stDibs).
Model Galaxy Coffee Table by Studio Superego
One of IKonic Interior's favorites, Studio Superego introduced its Model Galaxy coffee table back in 2021. All of Superego's projects focus on combining fantasy with reality. The table is made with three polished steel balls to hold a customized plexiglass surface. This Italian piece is perfect for eccentric individuals looking to add retro-futurism to their homes. Available for a price of $5,448.71 (via 1stDibs).
BLACK STEEL ShelVING by Manon Ritaly
This last piece from Manon Ritaly is phenomenal for showcasing your best plants, vases, and photos. Originating from France, Ritaly designed the shelves from foam and fabric, accenting them with black curvy steel rods. All I can envision is a long windy road that was gently placed around the contemporary shelving. He built this work of art from scratch with an art and design background. Retailing for $1,926 (via 1stdibs).
